We are affiliated  with The Middle Passage Ceremonies and Port Markers Project (MPCPMP), a nonprofit tax-exempt organization established in 2011 by Ann L. Chinn. The organization focuses on researching and identifying all ports of entry for Africans during the 350 years of the transatlantic human trade.

The Rhode Island projects are interested in recognizing the role of the state as a departure site and major player in the human trade and propagation of slavery on a global level. However, it remains committed to telling the human story of those that perished and survived enslavement, along with the histories of their descendants.
